The Listing Process-Sell Your Home!

Are you considering listing your home? Now is a great time to do so, but it’s important to know what you’re getting yourself into before you try to sell your home! Listing a home is a very involved process and should not be handled by an inexperienced agent. It’s important that you trust the agent listing your home and that you feel comfortable with them.

What’s My Home Worth?

The first step in the listing process is having your agent determine an asking price for your home. This is done by performing a comparative market analysis (CMA). This takes recent home sales in your area that are similar to your home and gives you a reliable estimate of what your home is worth. Another way this is done is by having a professional appraisal. See our blog on the appraisal process!

Sign the Listing Agreement

The second step is signing a listing agreement. This agreement allows me to act on your behalf and in your best interest as your agent.

Find Buyers

The third step, after you’ve signed a listing agreement, is for me to market your home! Each property is different, so you need a customized marketing plan to get your home sold. The Mark Steward Team provides a marketing plan specifically for each of property we list.

Review Offers

Once you start receiving offers, We will review your offers with you and you can then either deny, counter-offer, or accept an offer. If you choose to accept an offer, you will then be under contract. Once you are under contract, your “legwork” is minimal. When all the terms agreed to in the contract are met, you will then close! Viola! Your home is sold!

The way your listing is handled is a definite way to determine the expertise of an agent. The listing process of a home should be handled with great care and by a seasoned agent. If you’re thinking of listing your home, let us help!
